These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Fridzo mobile application ("Fridzo," "the app," "the service"). By creating an account or using Fridzo, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of Service
Fridzo is a pantry management and meal planning app featuring Miso, an AI-powered cooking assistant. Core features including pantry tracking, shopping lists, meal planning, and barcode scanning are free to use. Fridzo Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks a higher monthly Miso AI message allowance and AI-powered receipt scanning.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use Fridzo. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Subscriptions and Billing
- Fridzo Pro is billed on a recurring monthly or yearly basis, as selected at purchase, through the Google Play Store.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account settings.
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- Refunds are handled according to Google's refund policy. Fridzo does not directly process payments or refunds.
- Prices may vary by region and are subject to change with notice.
4. AI-Generated Content
Miso's responses, meal suggestions, and nutritional information are generated by AI and are provided for general informational purposes only. Miso is not a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Consult a qualified professional regarding health, allergies, or dietary restrictions before acting on Miso's suggestions.
Food safety and expiry: Fridzo's freshness and expiry tracking is an estimate to help you plan meals and reduce waste. It is not a food-safety guarantee. Always inspect food yourself, follow the use-by and best-before dates on packaging, and use your own judgement about whether food is safe to eat. Fridzo is not responsible for decisions you make about consuming food.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Fridzo for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its backend systems
- Upload content that is abusive, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes on others' rights
- Use Miso, our AI assistant, to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or abusive, or that violates the acceptable-use policies of the AI providers that power our features
- Attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or extract the underlying instructions or prompts of our AI features
- Use automated means to access the service without our permission
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, access controls, or security measures in the app
6. Your Content
You retain ownership of the data you enter into Fridzo, including pantry items, photos, and chat messages. By using the app, you grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the service — for example, sending a receipt photo to our AI provider to extract grocery items.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behaviour toward the service.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Fridzo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated suggestions will be accurate or suitable for your specific dietary or health needs.
9. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.
Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Fridzo and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on AI-generated meal or nutritional suggestions.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Fridzo after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Fridzo are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
